OpenStreetMap/countries ======================= In order for search to work properly, Navit assigns villages/towns/cities (anything with a ```http://wiki.openstreetmap.org/wiki/Place``\ ````\ ``place`` `__ OSM tag) to a country. It does this by looking at the ```is_in`` `__ or ``is_in:country`` tag attached to the same ``place`` node for information on what country it is in. Navit will compare the country name in the ``is_in`` or ``is_in:country`` against a list defined in the code.
